A very small number of buildings on flat ice. One can see trapped icebergs dotted around the ice. Also a mound of dirt or rocks fairly close to the cam. Looks like a road or runway on the ice-just scraped off.

16. This is an aerial shot of the Cape Roberts Camp, which is about a 15 minute helicopter ride from the drill site. The camp is set up on the sea ice as well, and it supports between 25-35 people at peak population.

Betty all bundled up next to bright yellow sign post. It is 15, 850 km to Rome and 3, 707 km to Christchurch.

17. I enjoyed seeing the signs at the remote camp... including the distance from the camp to locations around the globe. Notice that the measurements are in kilometers. Also, do you see the volleyball net on the sea ice? That was just one form of recreation at the camp.

Looks like a big white box with a commercial freezer type latch. the box is marked NZAP. There are black flags in the distance.

18. I had the pleasure of sleeping in a reconditioned ship container while I visited the camp. These "dorms" are quite comfortable really, and about the only part that was inconvenient was that the outhouse was a short walk away. You had to bundle up to go out to the bathroom.
