Day 1 - May 6 2006![]() Bench testing radar depth sounder (right) in CReSIS lab before departure We departed Lawrence from Dennis Sundermeyers house at 8:25 am and drove to Kansas City International Airport. Our scheduled departure at 10:30 was delayed nearly one and one half hours due to undisclosed security issues, and resulted in missing our connecting flight in Chicago. Instead of landing in Albany at 4:30 as planned, it was closer to 7:30 when we finally arrived. Since we had to report to Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia, about 5 miles away from our hotel, by 5:30 am, we decided to dispense with dinner, but did go to a nearby convenience store and picked up a few items for lunch the next day. We also scheduled a taxi to pick us up at 5:20 the next morning and were in bed by 10:30. ![]() Pallet packed with radar equipment and antennas ready to be shipped |
